Roy graduated from West Virginia University with a double major in advertising and finance. During his time there he was the treasurer and president of a 120-member chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. He then went on to pursue a degree in audio engineering at the Institute of Audio Research in Manhattan where he achieved Dean's List for the duration of his education.
It was during his time in Manhattan that Roy was drawn back to the world of finance and the opportunity it presented. After meeting Harry Abrahamsen at a fundraiser in New York, he was introduced to the concepts of macro-economic advisory and the ability to build a financial plan that works under all circumstances. He was sold.
Shortly after that, Roy began a career at Abrahamsen Financial Group and received his training from some of the top professionals and financial thinkers in the country.
